Came around 5pm with a friend for dinner. Had reservations so was seated immediately. Our server was friendly but kind of peaced out once all of our food arrived.
For cocktails I got the bowtie and trace of balsamic. The presentation was nice for both cocktails but I would say both were underwhelming in terms of flavor. My friend got the bright lights and said it tasted like liquid skittles.
For food we got sticky tofu, chile crispy wings, sweet potato croquettes, and duck spring rolls.
The sticky tofu was nice. Good blend of flavors, nice texture.
The wings were drowning in sauce. Pretty soggy and the too sweet.
The sweet potato croquettes were okay but the flavor combo was a bit odd, not sure the miso crema helped at all.
The duck spring rolls were boring and bland.
Cocktails and food came out at lightning speed. The restaurant seemed clean and modern but can't really hold a conversation here because it's so loud.
We enjoyed our stop here for late night snacks and drinks. Cocktails were good, but nothing special. We tried the Brussels spirits, shishito peppers, and a
Duck spring rolls. All were decent but would not say they were worth the price.
I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Times Square. The food was amazing!!! Outstanding service and a great atmosphere!
We were wandering around New York at 11 without having had dinner. We were so happy to see this place was still serving food! They had a late night menu available, with good variety. We had the Brussels sprouts, which were so good that my kids ate them up! We also had shrimp and calamari. The kids had mac & cheese. Yummy cocktails! Everyone was satisfied, and the portions were ample. Once again, I forgot to take pictures until the food was halfway gone.
Nice bar/restaurant located in the Garment District of New York City. The place is so lovely! Fancy decoration and beautiful pictures of the city on the old days. We've been there on a Thursday night, and there were several seats available. Good variety of drinks and draft beers. But we were expecting more from the food, especially considering the price. They look great in the picture, but taste is beyond the expectation. Anyway, a good place to go.
Title: Great food and cozy atmosphere!
I had a wonderful dining experience at The Independent restaurant. The establishment is conveniently located on 147 W 40th St and offers a cozy and relaxed ambiance. The menu is diverse, with a variety of delicious dishes to choose from. I especially loved their [insert favorite dish] – it was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavors. The service was attentive, and the staff made me feel welcomed throughout my visit. I highly recommend The Independent for anyone looking for an enjoyable dining experience in New York City!
I feel like I’ve been catfished coming here.. After seeing the photos and website I was so excited to come here for lunch! I was so disappointed since everything about this restaurant was great except for the food! The interior was so nice and the restaurant had such a good vibe. Our server was so kind and friendly but the kitchen was so slow. This was surprisingly as almost every table was empty. The food slowly trickled out a few dishes at a time and we weren’t able to start eating together.. We particularly disliked the deviled eggs (these were strangely fried and bland), Mac and cheese (needed more cheese and flavor) and sticky tofu (the texture was good but the flavor was off. The only redeeming quality were the drinks and amazing service. I would only recommend coming for drinks! Especially the PREACHER MAN
Amazing Bar in Manhattan. Definitely it is a must if you want to enjoy good food and local beer with really good music
